THE BRIEF:

Light Years Asian Diner offers a fun, modern Asian dining experience with food that is bold, colourful, and full of flavour. Originating in Byron Bay back in 2017, you can now find Light Years in Noosa, Burleigh Heads, and the most recently opened restaurant in Newcastle. No two venues are the same offering exclusive dishes and personalities reflective of their surroundings.

THE SOLUTION:

Playing on the Light Years vibrant and electric personality seen in the existing venues and transporting it to another realm. Utilising the grandness of the original building, it feels warm and welcoming, which has come to be expected of the Light Years brand. The colourful crazy pave and curved booths flow through the center. When you walk in, your eye is drawn from the ground up - focusing on the crazy pave and custom seating, moving your way up to the large palms and then to the varied size cotton lanterns that span the void in the ceiling. Creating a space that has something exciting no matter where you look, whether it be a large in your face feature or something subtle in the details.
